Eco-Friendly Business Cards
Our eco-friendly business cards are planted on plantable paper. Plantable paper is special handmade paper embedded with wildflower seeds. When you or your customers plant your business cards are planted in a pot of soil, wildflowers will grow from the paper.
The following instructions are for you or your customers. To plant your business cards, first fill a pot with good-quality potting soil, about 2/3 full. Place the business card on top of the soil, trimming to fit. Cover your card with a thin layer of soil and water well, until the soil and business card are evenly damp. Place the pot in a location with plenty of sun and keep moist until the plantable paper has germinated. This process takes about 7-10 days for the seeds to germinate.
During those first 10 days make sure to keep your pot nice and moist.
Once sprouts appear continue to keep your pot moist, but be careful not to overwater. Once your plants appear, water as needed.
That depends on various conditions. On average it takes about 3-4 weeks for the plants to fully grow.
Our Earth Day cards are printed on seed paper, which is made from recycled paper collected from local offices and schools.
Design your business cards with text and simple images on a plain background. Avoid designs with too much ink coverage. There are two reasons for this.
- Since the paper has bumpy seeds, a wash of color over the entire paper will make your business cards look molted.
- If there is too much ink coverage there is a possibility that seeds might not grow properly.

How to use them?
- Download the template that matches your order size and the graphic program you use.
- Open the template and place your existing artwork inside it to confirm that you have enough bleed zone, safety zone, and the correct file size.
- Upload your files with or without the template.

Since all products are custom made and have no resale value, we cannot issue refunds for already processed orders. However, we will gladly reprint your order and ship it to you at no cost.
We reprint your orders if:
- Your product has production related defects
- Your product is lost during transit and the shipper cannot locate it
- Your product is damaged in transit due to inappropriate packaging

Start your design with correct final sizes and set the resolution to 350 PPI (pixel per inch). Files with resolutions of less than 300 PPI typically print with blurry text and low quality images.
Before printing your order, we will notify you if your submitted files are not up to standard resolution requirements.
Bleed is the section of the artwork that will be cut off when the final printed product is trimmed to its final size. The purpose of the bleed zone is to continue a background color, image, or design all the way to the edge of the card.
Bleed size is typically 1/8 of an inch (or 0.125") outside of the final trim line. If you submit a file for large format printing like posters and banners, please provide at least 1" to 2" bleed depending on product type. For example: if the final product size is 5" x 7", a print ready file with bleed should be 5.25" x 7.25"
The safety zone contains all critical artwork elements that cannot risk being cut off and is any area 1/8 of an inch (or 0.125") inward from within the trim line. Important information such as text, addresses, borders and titles generally rest within the safety zone. For example: if the final product size is 5" x 7", all critical artwork elements need to be placed 0.125" inward, or within 4.75" x 6.75", from the final trim line.
The trim line indicates where the product will be cut to its final size once the bleed zone is removed. However, please remember that due to print cutting tolerances, the cut may shift up to 0.0625" in any direction.
Four color printing is achieved by combining the four color process inks - cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black) - to simulate millions of desired colors. Please send your artwork in CMYK color mode and not RGB. Computer monitors are set to show colors with RGB color mode.
However, printing is done using CMYK color mode, and when a file is transferred from RGB to CMYK, its colors may depreciate. To achieve complete color accuracy between the file and printing products, all files must be converted to CMYK before they are submitted for printing.
All spot colors and PMS colors must also be converted to CMYK before submitted for printing. All black and white artwork must be sent in gray scale color mode.

- All fonts outlined and flattened
