The Selected Reserve Montgomery GI Bill provides Army Reserve Soldiers with money to use toward tuition and other educated-related expenses for up to 36 months.

Smith meets the full documented need, as determined by college policy, of all admitted students who apply for aid by the published deadlines. Returning students who completed an application for Smith financial aid for the current 2016-17 academic year do not have to submit tax returns (student or parent) as part of the financial aid application for the upcoming 2017-18 year.

The W&L Financial Aid Program

HomeFinancial Aid We award institutional, federal, and state grants plus $2,000 in student employment to meet your need as calculated by our office.   No loan will be offered to meet any part of your demonstrated need.   Federal loan eligibility for the student and parent is offered only as an option to cover the family's contribution. Graduate Debt-Free Our generous grant packages meet the demonstrated need of our aid applicants and only a fraction of our families choose to take an optional loan to cover the family contribution. Over the past five years, an average of 67 percent of our undergraduates graduated debt-free.

The Financial Aid Office provides financial assistance to students who have a financial need and who would otherwise be unable to attend Liberty University. The student and the student’s family are primarily responsible for the cost of higher education. A student who needs financial assistance is expected to contribute by working or borrowing a reasonable portion of the funds needed for educational expenses.

Loans and Pell GrantsFederal Loan Federal student loans are government-backed or guaranteed. They are low-cost, fixed-rate loans that may be subsidized (based on need) or unsubsidized (not based on need). Subsidized loans begin to accrue (accumulate) interest when repayment begins (six months after you leave school or your attendance drops below half-time), while unsubsidized loans begin to accrue interest as soon as the loan is fully disbursed. Award amounts are based on grade year classifications and vary each year. Important Time Limitations on Loans and Pell Grants Direct Subsidized Loans : For first-time borrowers applying for Direct Subsidized Loans on or after 1 July 2013, there is a limit on the maximum period of time (measured in academic years) that you can receive such loans.
